The application for accreditation was submitted to the European Association for the Treatment of Addiction (EATA), which operates out of the United Kingdom. It is the largest membership organisation for the independent drug and alcohol treatment and aftercare sector.
To achieve Accreditation, applicants have every aspect of their programme scrutinized by an independent panel of experts and must demonstrate that their services effectively support a reduction in substance use in individuals.
The Substance Abuse Foundation Inc. has satisfied these requirements and was granted accreditation effective August 21, 2009. The accreditation is valid for three years. Therefore, individuals seeking treatment can be assured of a treatment experience that is comparable to that of other international treatment facilities.
